Fourteen peacekeepers were killed in , allegedly by Ugandan rebels, the UN said Friday
The UN said in a statement that suspected Ugandan rebels of the Allied force -- formed in the 1990s -- attacked the base of the MONUSCO Force Operational Company in the North Kivu province.
According to the statement, five DRC soldiers were also killed, while 50 peacekeepers sustained injuries.
Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in the DRC, Maman Sidikou, strongly condemned the attack.
