At least three people were killed and several went missing after a wooden boat capsized in the southwestern Democratic Republic of Congo, according to local media reports.
Jean-Baptiste Nkololo, mayor of the rural community of Kasongo-Lunda, said the boat that left Tembo village struck the Kwango bridge and sank, Okapi Radio reported on Monday.
He added that there were about 150 people on board, including traders and students.
Boat accidents have become frequent in DR Congo where water transport is common due to mostly impassable roads. Such accidents often result in huge death tolls.
