Turkey’s leading news agency, the Anadolu Agency (AA), aims to be the voice of oppressed people in African countries with launch of its seventh language which will start its transmission by April 6.
AA will launch its French transmission on its 94th anniversary on April 6, as part of its vision to rank among the world's five most influential news agencies.
The Tunisia-based French publications are planned to serve French-speaking countries; Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, France and Belgium.
Under the heading of politics, economy, sports, tourism, lifestyle, and arts and culture, the French publications of the Middle East and Africa Regional Directorate will transmit developments in Turkey and across the world with photos and videos. Meanwhile, the significant developments in French-speaking Africa will be published in Turkish, Arabic, English, Russian, Kurdish and Bosnian.
AA started to transmit in French before the proclamation of the Republic in 1923 to tell the truth about Turkey's independence war to the world.
AA continued its French transmission from 1923 to 1981 June, and also between 2002 and 2009.
AA aims to transmit news in 11 languages by 2020 - its centennial anniversary.
