JERUSALEM (AA) - Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon has ordered a one-month delay for enforcing an earlier decision to remove army security from towns along borders with the Gaza Strip, Egypt and Lebanon.
The delay followed talks between Ya’alon and secretary-general of the Kibbutz Movement Eitan Broshi, according to Yediot Aharonot newspaper.
According to the Israeli daily, Broshi told Ya'alon that the communities would need time to adjust to the situation and find ways to raise funds for security.
The decision to stop army security will apply to 13 towns in the Gaza vicinity and along the border with Egypt and nine towns near the Lebanese border.
