A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck northeastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake occurred at 10.27 pm local time (1757 GMT) at a depth of 216.7 kilometers (134.6 miles).
Its epicenter was located in the Jurm district of Badakhshan province, the USGS said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties following the earthquake.
