ANKARA
Anadolu Agency has begun accepting applications for its War Journalism Certificate Program, which will be held between May 16 and May 27 in Ankara.
The program aims to prepare correspondents for possible dangers that may arise while reporting under emergency situations and states of war and natural disasters.
Anadolu Agency News Academy, a division which works to cultivate a new generation of journalists as part of the agency's centennial vision, will train correspondents jointly with the Turkish Police Academy.
Turkey's disaster management agency AFAD, Turkish Armed Forces and the Undersecretary of Public Order and Security will also contribute experienced staff to the program.
A comprehensive range of subjects will be offered during the program, including journalism, personal security, laws of war, first aid, advanced driving techniques, water survival techniques, chemical and biological attacks and media management in hostile environments.
Applicants for the program should be less than 35 years of age and be graduates of communication, radio or television departments of universities or be employed with media outlets.
Successful participants will be awarded internationally-recognized certificates.

The War Journalism Certificate Program will have four terms. The first term will commence on May 16. Also, the first three training terms will be in Turkish while the last one will be in English.
The "War Journalism Certificate Program" will last 12 days and participants will complete 108 hours of study, out of which 62 hours would be on the field coursework.
