The Macedonian foreign minister and parliamentary speaker on Friday congratulated Anadolu Agency on two years of service in their language.
“The Republic of Macedonia devoted itself to the freedom of the media and I would like to express my gratitude to Anadolu Agency for its contribution to our media diversity with active work in this context,” Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov said in a letter.
“I would also like to thank Anadolu Agency for contributing to the further promotion of this language with a Macedonian news service.”
Parliamentary Speaker Talat Xhaferi added: “I am celebrating the second-year anniversary of the opening of the Macedonian Service of AA. I wish successful works for many years. Your presence enriches the media life in Macedonia.”
Anadolu Agency marked two years of service in the Macedonian language on Thursday.
To date, 25,460 articles, 11,260 photo galleries and 6,060 videos have been produced by the office in Skopje.
Anadolu Agency boasts 39 offices worldwide and produces news stories in 13 languages -- Turkish, English, Arabic, French, Kurdish, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian (BCS), Russian, Albanian, Persian, Macedonian, Spanish and Indonesian.
The agency, which recently opened offices in Bogota, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Beijing, is one of the ten most influential agencies in the world.
