Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 12,948.83, down 1.32% or 173.74 points.
On Wednesday, the BIST 100 fell 5.54% to close at 13,122.58 points, with a daily transaction volume of 262.4 billion Turkish liras ($5.39 billion).
As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 48.6750 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 56.0120 to the euro, and 65.3505 to the British pound.
The price of an ounce of gold was $4,307.65, while Brent crude oil futures were trading at $104.15 per barrel.
