Two Arab officials have denounced what they described as Israeli abuses against the Palestinians and assaults on hospitals in the Palestinian territories.
A meeting was held Tuesday between the assistant secretary-generals of the Arab League and the Arab Medical Union (AMU) to discuss the latest developments in Palestine.
During the meeting, the two officials decried Israeli violations against the Palestinians, including a recent Israeli raid on a hospital in the West Bank city of Hebron, according to an AMU statement.
Two weeks ago, Israeli forces, disguised in Palestinian clothes, raided a hospital in Hebron and shot dead a relative of a man suspected of carrying out a stabbing attack.
“[This raid] runs counter to international laws and norms which guarantee protection to hospitals,” AMU Assistant Secretary-General Gamal Abdel-Salam said.
He said Israeli authorities “spare no effort to commit more crimes and violations against the living and dead Palestinians.”
Violence has flared up across the Palestinian territories in recent weeks.
