TEHRAN, Iran
Ali Larijani, a moderate conservative, was reelected as the temporary speaker of Iran’s new parliament on Sunday.
He received 173 out of 281 votes.
Larjani had played an important role in approving Iran’s nuclear agreement with world powers in 2015.
The election for a permanent parliamentary speaker is due to be held in two weeks.
