Activists have said forces loyal to the Syrian regime on Sunday killed 73 people in offensives on several cities across Syria.
Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), a London-based group that tracks civilian and dissident casualties, stated that Assad forces killed 28 in the suburbs of capital Damascus, 14 in Homs, 12 each in Dera'a and Hama, 2 each in Idlib, Quneitra and Raqqah and one person in Deir al-Zour in air and land operations.
Meanwhile, Syrian General Revolution Commission (SRGC) added fierce clashes take place between the opposition and regime forces mainly in Qusayr, Homs, capital Damascus and Dera'a.
Syrian Local Coordination Committee (LCC) said five Hezbollah militants fighting alongside regime forces were killed in the Brital village of Kalamun region, near the Lebanese border.
According to Syria's state news agency SANA, al-Muallim held a phone call with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon over clashes in al-Qusair, a strategic city located near a highway that connects capital Damascus with regime-controlled towns on the Mediterranean coast.
SANA cited al-Muallim as telling Ban that once the military operations in al-Qusair are over, the regime would allow the Red Cross and the Syrian Red Crescent to enter the city.
Moreover, SANA said regime forces made major gains against opposition fighters in offensives across the country.
