CAIRO
Egypt's interim President Adly Mansour met Sunday with leaders of several political parties, a source with the presidency told Anadolu Agency.
The meeting was attended by leaders of leftist and liberal parties, including ex-presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi, leader of the Popular Current, Abdel-Ghaffar Shukr, leader the Socialist Popular Alliance Party, Ahmed Said, leader of Free Egyptians and Sayed Abdel-Aal, head of leftist-leaning Tagamu Party.
Younis Makhioun, chairman of the Salafist Nour Party, was the only leader of an Islamist party in attendance.
Nour was the only Islamist party that backed the army's roadmap which included the ouster of elected President Mohamed Morsi, suspension of the constitution and installment of Mansour as interim president.
The source, who asked to remain anonymous, said that the meeting was expected to tackle the upcoming parliamentary elections and whether it should be based on individual-candidate system or the party-list one.
A press conference is due to be held later in the day to announce the outcome of the meeting, added the source.
