DAMASCUS (AA) - At least 42 people were killed on Wednesday in several cities across Syria in heavy weapons attacks by Syrian regime forces, activists said.
According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), a London-based group which tracks civilian and dissident casualties, 12 people were killed in Homs, 10 in the suburbs of Damascus, 7 in Dera'a, 4 in Deir ez Zor and Idlib, 2 in Aleppo, and 1 in Al Hasakah, Quneitra and Hama in air and land offensives.
Syrian war planes bombed the residential areas around the Kowaires Military Airbase in Aleppo, the Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) claimed in a statement.
Free Syrian Army troops destroyed a tank in the village of Azizah, south of Aleppo, and marked major gains against the regime forces in and around the city, SRGC said.
Meanwhile, Assad regime forces mounted mortar and rocket attacks on the Douma, Harasta, Muaddamiyah, Tadamon, Yermouk, Jobar and Qadam districts of Damascus, and heavy clashes took place between Assad forces and FSA troops in Zamalka, Barzeh, Darayya and Al-Qabun.
Furthermore, SANA, Syrian national news agency, announced that regime forces made major gains against armed groups in operations across the country.
