The Turkish Cypriot parliament on Monday approved the country’s new coalition government.
The Assembly of the Republic rubber-stamped Prime Minister Omer Kalyoncu’s administration by 35 deputies to nine with six lawmakers not attending the vote.
President Mustafa Akinci approved the new cabinet on July 15.
The coalition comprises Kalyoncu's Republican Turkish Party-United Forces, which holds 21 seats in parliament, and the National Unity Party, which has 18.
"This is always a difficult task,” Kalyoncu said after the vote. “We will try to overcome it."
