ANKARA
Almost 18 million children headed to school in Turkey on Monday for the start of a new academic year.
More than a million teachers also returned to school at the start of the first semester, which will last till Jan. 18, 2019.
The mid-term break will end on Feb. 1 and the second semester is scheduled to begin on Feb. 4 and end on June 14.
On Sunday, the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a message wishing success to all teachers and students for the new school year.
