Turkish government spokesman said on Monday that nearly 20 of 25 soldiers who died in a blast in western province of Afyonkarahisar have been identified so far.
After the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Government Spokesman and Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc told reporters that nearly 20 soldiers who died in the blast in Afyonkarahisar last Wednesday were identified, stating that others would also be identified within next few days.
A military judicial investigation was under way, he said.
A blast at a military ammunition depot in Afyonkarahisar killed 25 soldiers last Wednesday.
Asked whether Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi who was sentenced to death in Iraq would be extradited, Arinc said that they thought that al-Hashemi would probably keep staying in Turkey.
Arinc recalled that al-Hashemi came to Turkey four months ago, stating that Turkey allowed him to stay as it considered charges against him political.
Arinc also said that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's upcoming visits to Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as combating terrorism were discussed in the cabinet meeting.
