A total of 79,875 motor vehicles were registered to traffic in June 2012.
Among them, cars took the first place with 47.8 percent (38,183) and followed by motorcycles with 24 percent (19,143), small trucks with 15.6 percent (12,464) and tractors with 5.9 percent (4,679), said TurkStat, Turkey's statistical authority, on Wednesday.
Small buses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 6.8 percent (5,406) of the registered motor vehicles in June 2012. The number of registered motor vehicles decreased 22.4 percent compared to the previous month.
Compared to the previous month, the number of registered motor vehicles decreased 22.4 percent. Cars, small buses, buses, small trucks, trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors decreased 25.7percent, 11.4 percent, 19.4 percent, 31.2 percent, 19.9 percent, 5.6 percent , 47.8 percent, 27.4 percent respectively.
The number of registered motor vehicles decreased 10 percent in comparison to the same period of the previous year.
According to the data in June 2012, the number of registered vehicles to the traffic decreased 15.3 percent in comparison to the same month of the previous year. Cars, small trucks, trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors decreased 12.1 percent, 24.4 percent, 8.5 percent, 13.3 percent, 68.8 percent, 29.6 percent. Small buses, buses increased 15.8 percent, 3.5 percent respectively.
While 59,903 motor vehicles were withdrawn, 530,916 motor vehicles were registered in January-June of 2012. Hence the total number of motor vehicles in traffic increased 471.013. Considering the end of June, the total number of motor vehicles in Turkey became 16,560,541. In the total number motor vehicles, the ratio of cars, small trucks, motorcycles, tractors, trucks, small buses, buses and special purpose vehicles became 50.6percent, 16.4 percent, 15.6 percent, 9 percent, 4.5 percent, 2.4 percent, 1.4 percent and 0.2 percent respectively.
