Anadolu Agency’s News, Photo and Analysis Tracking System has won an award for best innovation project and best IT governance project of 2016.
The award was announced at the International Data Corporation’s (IDC) three-day annual Turkey CIO Summit, where more than 160 information and communications technology leaders from most prominent enterprises met in Izmir Tuesday.
The News Tracking System was developed by the agency’s Research & Development Department to track news items in Turkey and across the world.
The system can screen approximately 50,000 websites and unlimited number of newspapers, thanks to its latest technology.
Its photo-tracking system, launched in 2014, protects the agency's copyrights over its extensive photo collection, including an archive of four million photographs against unauthorized usage and illegal publication by any other organization.
The tracking system is part of the agency's “centennial vision" to increase the organization’s profile worldwide, and to protect its data integrity by discouraging unauthorized use.
The data can also be used to gather evidence for the agency's legal department should they need to take legal action against unauthorized access and copyright infringement as specified by the Turkish Penal Code’s Law 57 “Intellectual and Artistic Works.”
Anadolu Agency's Information and Technology Director Yakup Sivka will give a presentation on the agency's tracking system Wednesday.
