ANKARA
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu congratulated Kuwait for the progress it recorded in parliamentarian system and its functioning during Arab Awakening process.
With the recent elections, Kuwaiti democracy and parliament have been passing through a healthy process, added Davutoglu who held a joint press conference with Kuwaiti Deputy Premier & Foreign Minister Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah in Ankara on Tuesday.
There is a comprehensive cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait, said Davutoglu, adding that Kuwaiti Amir would pay a visit to Turkey on April 29.
Noting that Turkish companies undertook important projects in Kuwait, Davutoglu said that the cooperation between the two countries would be extended.
Davutoglu said that Kuwait supported Turkey's candidacy for non-permanent membership to UN Security Council in 2015 and 2016, adding that Turkey would support Kuwait's candidacy for 2018-2019 period.
Meanwhile, al-Sabah said that Turkey and Kuwait would celebrate the 45th year of establishing diplomatic ties in 2014.
He said that Kuwaiti people started to buy real estates in Turkey recently, and Turkey was also important for Kuwaiti people in the aspect of tourism.
