Fire broke out at a prison in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa, but it was contained shortly after it broke out.
"Security has been restored at prison right now, and inmates have been taken back to their wards," Guvenc told the private CNN Turk TV channel.
Injured included police officers, soldiers, wardens, and inmates who were affected by smoke he stated.
Guvenc also said everything was under control, and 14 of the injured were inmates who were affected by smoke, and they were hospitalized.
Fourteen people who were hospitalized after a prison fire in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa were discharged from hospital.
"42 people including police officers, soldiers, wardens and inmates were injured in the prison fire," Governer Guvenc told reporters.
''Governance office was aware of prison conditions''
Guvenc said they were aware of prison conditions, and the Justice Ministry was working to rehabilitate those conditions.
"We are investigating the cause of incidents," Guvenc also said.
Fire broke out at the same prison early on Sunday, killing 13 and wounding five others. The fire broke out due to a row among the inmates, and it spread as inmates did not allow wardens to open doors.
