BERLIN
German parliament Speaker Norbert Lammert has condemned Wednesday’s deadly bombing in Turkish capital Ankara.
"No matter who advocates which cause, one must know that using violence on any grounds is always intolerable," Lammert said, after signing a condolence book at the Turkish embassy in German capital.
Lammert visited the embassy with a group of German lawmakers from the German-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Group, to express sympathy and solidarity with Turkish people.
He denounced groups that use violence to achieve their political goals.
"With our visit, we would like to express our sadness and sympathy, and also convey our message that such acts of violence cannot be tolerated," he added.
Wednesday’s car bomb attack targeted military vehicles in central Ankara, killing at least 28 people and wounding 61.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Thursday that the attack was carried out jointly by a Syrian YPG member and PKK members based in Turkey.
YPG is the armed wing of the terrorist group PKK's Syrian branch, PYD.
