ISTANBUL
Police in Istanbul launched a massive operation on Friday night targeting terrorism, drugs, smuggling and organized crime.
Police sources said nearly 5,000 officers were involved in Operation Yeditepe Huzur (Seven Hill Peace, a reference to the hills the city was originally established on).
The operation was backed by helicopters and involved raids on predetermined addresses throughout the night.
