Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdish regional administration in north of Iraq Imad Ahmed has said on newly launched Kurdish broadcast of Anadolu Agency that he hoped that the rapprochement between (Turkish and Kurdish) peoples will gain a pace with the Kurdish broadcast.
Ahmed said he also hoped that Kurdish broadcast is a great gain for the region in terms of bringing the relations between Turkey and Iraqi Kurdish administration to better levels.
“We had good and bad relations with Turkey for the past thousand years but now there is a relation that increasingly goes for better. I thank Turkish government and people for this. It is very important to solve issues on a democratic platform for regional democracy and security,” Ahmed added.
Ahmed concluded his words by saying, “We live in a very sensitive and rich region and there is a great transition we are going through. That’s why we can behave in the same manner and work for peace and brotherhood.”
Anadolu Agency has started broadcasting in Kurdish in two dialects, Kormanji and Sorani on September 1, bringing the number of broadcast languages to 6.
