A construction worker has been injured when a building collapsed in Istanbul – the second such incident in a month.
Thursday’s accident occurred in the Bakirkoy district on the city’s European side as construction work was ongoing.
Rescuers managed to pull the trapped man, named as Ali Aka, from the rubble after an hour.
Aka, who suffered a broken foot, is in Bakirkoy State Hospital.
The collapse has been blamed on water-logged ground which made the construction site unstable.
Earlier this month, passersby escaped injury when two buildings suddenly collapsed in Istanbul’s central Taksim district on Feb. 12.
