ANKARA
Public Prosecutor of Ankara on Thursday said there was no official investigation launched on the military coup in Egypt.
According to a written statement by the Public Prosecutor of Ankara the authorities just processed a petition on the issue.
Statement says a non-governmental organization submitted a petition on July 9, 2013 which was processed according to the code of criminal procedure, paragraph 158.
The non-governmental human rights organization MAZLUMDER filed a criminal complaint to the Public Prosecutor of Ankara about the military coup in Egypt and some persons such as Egyptian military chief and Defense Minister Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
Chairman of MAZLUMDER Ahmet Faruk Unsal said according to the Turkish criminal law, paragraph 13, "Every political, religious, philosophical or race action against a person outside the Turkish border" can be evaluated at Turkish courts.
