DIYARBAKIR, Turkey
Three police officers were martyred and three others were wounded when a makeshift explosive planted by PKK terrorists hit an armored police vehicle on a highway in southeastern Diyarbakir province Tuesday, local police said.
The incident took place on the Diyarbakir-Silvan Highway, police said.
An operation has been launched in the area to nab the terrorists, they added.
Since July, official figures suggest more than 200 members of the security forces have been martyred and over 1,700 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq, including airstrikes.
