ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed concern over the escalating tension at Korean Peninsula.
In a written statement MFA said on Friday, against the UNSC resolutions Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) had been acting towards raising tension at the Korean Peninsula, and MFA was concerned that those actions could reach a level of threat against international peace, stability and security.
"North Korea's latest statements on evacuation of foreigners in South Korea was unacceptable," said the statement.
The statement said, "Turkey which follows the developments at the Korean Peninsula closely thinks that the attitude of the new administration in North Korea does not serve the mutual understanding, peace and stability in the region," and added that to avoid undesirable incidents, all dialogue channels should be kept open.
Tension has escalated between North Korea and South Korea following the nuclear tests conducted by North Korea and over its decision to restart operations at the Nyongbyon nuclear facility.
