NEW YORK
Turkey is hosting a media event in New York to give journalists the live results of Turkey's general election Sunday.
The event at the Ink48 Hotel in midtown Manhattan will feature a live feed of the most up-to-date election results from Anadolu Agency immediately after the Supreme Election Board removes the embargo on election broadcasting.
The results, percentages of votes and turnout will be instantly transmitted, with comparisons to the 2011 parliamentary poll.
Simultaneous English translation of Turkish TV channels is also being provided to journalists.
The event features a panel discussion at 3 p.m. local time (1900GMT) by leading experts on elections and geopolitics, including former U.S. Deputy Homeland Advisor Rand Beers, Pulitzer prize-winner Judith Miller, former Republican congressman and TV talk show host Joe Scarborough and Douglas Schoen, advisor to former U.S. President Bill Clinton.
The panel will be moderated by Steve Forbes, chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media.
The polls have closed in Turkey’s 25th general election.
Anadolu Agency will also transmit results to its subscribers via the secim.aa.com.tr website, as well as on its English-language website.
The agency proved itself while following Turkey's local and presidential elections in 2014 when approximately 85 percent of media institutions in Turkey subscribed to its special broadcast.
Official results confirmed the authenticity of the results broadcast by the agency.
