ANKARA
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with Djibouti's Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Minister Mahamoud Ali Youssouf in Ankara on Thursday.
The closed-door meeting took place at the Foreign Ministry.
Diplomatic officials quoted Davutoglu as saying that his visit to Djibouti within the scope of a trip to East Africa in November was fruitful. Davutoglu said Youssouf's visit to Turkey was of great importance for improvement of bilateral relations.
Stating that the two countries have been working to increase trade volume, Davutoglu said Turkey attached a great importance to peace and stability in the region and it was ready to contribute to it.
Youssouf informed Davutoglu on relations between Djibouti and Eritrea in the meeting in which the two foreign ministers discussed developments in East Africa and Horn of Africa.
Youssouf said they wanted cooperation with Turkey to be boosted.
Stating that they were impressed by what Turkey did in Somalia, he said that Turkey extended support without looking after any economic interest.
