ANKARA
Turkish foreign ministry has stated that Turkey found positive the peace agreement of "framework agreement" signed between the Philippines government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
According to a statement released from Turkish Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Ankara welcomed the announcement of the framework agreement which has been agreed between the Philippines government and MILF to bring peace to Muslim minority. Peace negotiations between the two was supervised by Tengku Dato' Abdul Ghafar the Malaysian facilitator in Kuala Lumpur between October 2 and 7, 2012.
In the statement, Turkish ministry stressed that Turkey, as a member of the International Contact Group, congratulated both sides for their constructive and positive attitudes during peace negotiations and agreement process.
The agreement ended the conflict between Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
The "framework agreement" foresees establishment of a new autonomous region administered by Muslims in Mindanao.
