Turkish dailies on Monday mainly covered the remarks and criticisms of Turkish Premier Erdogan on the 2020 Olympics, the groundbreaking ceremony of the first-ever joint Mosque-Cemevi (Alevi place of worship) project, criticisms of the International Olympic Committee's decision, an exclusive news for a Syrian refugee camp.
All Turkish dailies covered the remarks and criticisms of Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the 2020 Olympics.
Daily AKSAM stated "l do not understand those who cheer," quoting Erdogan as saying, "l am very surprised that some people (in Turkey) cheer over the victory of Tokyo. I do not understand those who cheer over Turkey's elimination."
Daily YENI SAFAK headlined "Not fair," saying Erdogan slammed Tokyo's victory over Turkey for the 2020 Olympics and quoting Erdogan as saying "Tokyo had organized the Olympics before but Istanbul had not. Turkey was not treated fairly. They break their connection with the Muslim world its 1.5 billion population."
Daily TURKIYE headlined Erdogan's reaction on the decision of the International Olympic Committee "They ignore Muslims," and quoted Erdogan as saying, "If you mention the Olympic spirit, you will not reelect a country which had hosted the Olympics before and you should spread the Olympics to the world. Unfortunately there is no spirit for peace in this decision"
Daily STAR wrote "They laughed when the [Turkish] flag fell down," saying Erdogan slammed the societies which cheer up over the elimination of Istanbul and quoting Erdogan as saying, "l lifted the Turkish flag but they cheered when Turkey lost."
Daily HURRIYET headlined "Cryout to the world," conveying Erdogan's statements that Turkey had not been treated fairly in the voting for the Olympics and his explanation of the event's background while returning from Argentina.

Groundbreaking ceremony of first-ever joint Mosque-Cemevi project
Daily BUGUN stated "900-year dream to come true," saying that the groundbreaking ceremony for the first-ever joint Mosque-Cemevi (Alevi place of worship) project, which includes a meal center, was held in Ankara with the attendance of politicians and many other people.
Daily TARAF headlined "Big Challenge to Joint Mosque-Cemevi," quoting an Alevi as saying "the problem cannot be fixed like this" and indicating that Alevi organizations had staged a demonstration near the groundbreaking ceremony. The protesters stated that they had a problem with regime in Turkey, not Sunnis.
Daily ZAMAN headlined "Millennial peace project's foundation laid," referring to the ceremony for the joint cultural center which brought together a mosque and a Cemevi.
