IRBIL
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu attended a fast-breaking dinner with Nechirvan Barzani, head of the regional Kurdish administration in the north of Iraq, on the second day of his visit to Irbil on Thursday.
Davutoglu said that Irbil was a city where Turkish and Kurdish brothers had been living together for centuries, adding that if there was peace in this city, there would be peace in the whole Middle East.
Davutoglu noted that he had historical and good meetings with Nechirvan Barzani as well as Massoud Barzani, leader of the regional administration in Iraq's north, during his visit.
I am happy to be the first foreign minister who has visited Kirkuk after 75 years, said Davutoglu.
He said that from now on, Turks and Kurds as well as Turkmens and Kurds would live together.
