Anadolu Agency on Tuesday revealed details of its plans to cover Turkey’s nationwide constitutional referendum this Sunday -- just a few days from now.
A special broadcast program -- Referendum 2017 -- will provide coverage as results come in from around Turkey and abroad.
Election results will be instantly transmitted in the agency's 11 broadcast languages on an election website at secim.aa.com.tr.
The agency currently publishes news stories in Turkish, English, Arabic, French, Kurdish, Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian (BSC), Russian, Albanian, Persian and Macedonian.
Anadolu Agency Chairman and Director General Senol Kazanci said the referendum would be the fifth election the agency will have covered in the past three years.
Kazanci said Anadolu Agency is experienced in collecting, reporting and transmitting election results to its subscribers and the public.
He also said the agency has extra reporters, editors, and technical staff on hand for Sunday’s poll.
Anadolu Agency will also operate a distribution system for its subscribers and run a statistical module for interpreting the results data.
More than 55 million Turkish voters are eligible to take part in Sunday’s referendum. Voters can go to over 167,000 ballot boxes nationwide.
A Yes win would see Turkey’s constitution changed from a parliamentary model to a presidential system, abolishing the office of prime minister.
