French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius announced that Russia offered help on the military intervention in Mali.
Speaking to private Europe-1 radio channel, Fabius said Russia offered help along with some European countries and Canada on the transportation of troops and ammunition to Mali.
UN Security Council member Russia was silent on the intervention.
Meanwhile, on the hostage crisis in Algeria, Fabius defended Algeria's handling of the hostage crisis at a gas field which ended with at least ended with at least 23 workers and 32 militants killed. He said the events showed the need to be "relentless in the face of terrorism".
On the other hand, Mauritania sent military enforcement to Mali border. They will police the refugee camp where Malian refugees stay.
