A Libyan security officer was killed and others were injured in three separate attacks in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on Sunday evening, a security source said.
According to the source, a police officer and a lower rank policeman came under fire in Benghazi's al-Salam district, leaving the officer dead and seriously wounding the policeman.
The same source said an army special force troop was also seriously wounded when he was shot at by militants outside his house in another Benghazi suburb.
He is currently in critical condition, having been shot in the face, the source said.
Another Libyan army officer had narrowly escaped death when he was shot at as he got out of his house in the al-Salam district, the source said.
He, however, was seriously wounded, he added.
Anadolu Agency could not get an immediate comment from the Libyan authorities on Sunday's attacks.
The attacks are the latest in a string of recent assaults targeting police and army personnel in Benghazi.
Libyans have struggled to restore order to their country since the death of strongman Muammar Gaddafi two years ago.
The transitional government and its security forces, meanwhile, have struggled to contain the armed militias that helped overthrow Gaddafi but which held onto their weapons after the 2011 uprising.
