• Trump says war with Iran 'will end immediately' after US midterm elections

US President Donald Trump said the war with Iran will "end immediately" after the Nov. 3 US midterm elections.

"I think the war will end immediately after the election because they can't hold out any longer," Trump told reporters ahead of his trip to Dallas, Texas to address the Republican Party's first midterm convention.

Arguing that Tehran is "desperate to try and affect the election," Trump said Washington is not looking to return to nuclear talks.

• Zelenskyy's plane nearly hit by drone while leaving Moldova, Norway's prime minister says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's plane was nearly hit by a drone while taking off from Moldova en route to Norway, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said.

“His plane was almost hit by a drone as it was taking off from Moldova. That is the reality he is facing,” Store said, Norwegian broadcaster NRK reported.

Zelenskyy arrived in Oslo from Moldova on Tuesday evening to attend the funeral of Norway's King Harald V.

• Türkiye, 7 other countries welcome UK ban on imports from illegal Israeli settlements

The foreign ministers of Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates welcomed the UK government's decision to ban imports of goods from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory and restrict services linked to such settlements.

In a joint statement, the ministers expressed hope that the decision would help mobilize the international community to take similar action in line with international law and hold accountable settlement organizations and individuals engaged in illegal settlement activities.

They also welcomed a joint statement on the two-state solution issued by the foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

• Türkiye to stay course on disinflation program: Finance minister

Türkiye will maintain its economic program and deliver disinflation despite difficult global and geopolitical conditions, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said.

Simsek joined Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz and Presidency of Strategy and Budget head Ibrahim Senel at the Presidential Complex for an international media meeting on Türkiye’s 2027-2029 Medium-Term Program.

“The only criticism we would accept is that we have been ambitious in our targets. We have, and there is, of course, a cost associated with that. But the commitment is there,” he said.
