President of the United States of America (US) Barrack Obama nominated on Monday Jason Furman to replace Alan Krueger as the chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers.
Jason Furman, Principal Deputy Director of the National Economic Council, is known as one of the key advisers of Obama. He played an essential role in the generation and implementation of health reform and law on incentives, known as the victories of Obama's first term.
At the press conference he held in the White House to announce the nomination of Furman, Obama described 42 year-old Furman as "one of the wisest brains of his generation in economy."
The nomination must be confirmed by the US Congress. If confirmed, Furman will succeed the current CEA Chairman Alan Krueger.
