ISTANBUL
The new chairman of the Syrian National Council called on Russia and China to join efforts of the international community regarding crackdown in Syria.
Abdulbaset Sieda said that the Syrian National Council appreciated efforts of UN-Arab League Joint Special Envoy, and underlined importance of continuation of international efforts to end al-Assad regime.
"We thank our brothers in Turkey for standing by our people during the revolution, their endeavors, and accepting our refugees as guests," Sieda told a press conference in Istanbul.
Sieda called on Russia and Chinese governments to join international community's efforts, and asked Iranian administration to respect Syrian people's will.
