South Korean President Park Geun-hye is to host her first official summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe since taking office in early 2013, her senior secretary for foreign affairs said Wednesday.
Kim Kyou-hyun told reporters that the meeting will take place in Seoul on Monday.
It has been more than three years since the last summit between the two countries’ leaders -- relations were hit when former Korean President Lee Myung-bak defiantly ended his administration with a visit to the islands of Dokdo, which both countries claim to be their territory.
