ISTANBUL
The Syrian Muslim Brotherhood on Monday made a press statement denying the widespread accusations against the organization of the Syrian opposition in Istanbul.
The statement rejected the allegations of "a secret agenda of the Muslim brotherhood and its control over Prime Minister Ghasan Hito of Syrian interim government," and stated that the Brotherhood didn't have any links to Hito before he was nominated.
The Muslim Brotherhood also denied positioning itself to grab power when Assad's regime falls.
"These are all lies, slanderous statements against the Muslim Brotherhood, we are not after any gains and we do not seek power. We await the fall of this regime so that the people can practice their role in choosing their own leaders," was told in the press statement.
It was also stated that the international society was responsible of Russia's and Iran's intervention, who were the causes of Assad's project of splitting the country.
