At least 17 people were killed and another 70 injured after a train and truck collided southwest of the Tunisian capital, Tunis, according to the country’s civil defense administration spokesman.
The crash occurred in El Fahes, about 60 kilometers from Tunis, at around 6:30 am local time (0530 GMT), according to the Tunisian Interior Ministry.
“The number of killed rose to 17 and could rise,” Tunisian Civil Defense Administration spokesman Al-Munji al-Qadi said.
