UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon appointed German diplomat Martin Kobler as his special envoy to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on Monday.
Diplomat Kobler who worked in the German Foreign Ministry for more than 25 years currently holds the position of UN special envoy to Iraq.
Kobler will head United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the DR Congo (MONUSCO).
