CAIRO
Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, on Tuesday said that they welcomed the "Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces".
Speaking at a meeting of EU and Arab League foreign ministers in Cairo, Ashton underlined that peace in the Middle East was important.
Ashton made a call on the international community to support the Syrian people.
The EU has been concerned about the incidents between Israel and Palestine in recent days, Ashton indicated.
Ashton reiterated that the EU favored a two state solution.
