Officials from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran came together today in Vienna to take up the methods to implement the Geneva deal reached regarding Iran's nuclear program.
IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Safeguards Tero Varjoranta and Iranian ambassador Reza Najafi attended the meeting that lasted for an hour behind closed doors and Varjoranta said following the meeting that the next session will be held in Tehran on 21 January.
Iran's envoy Najafi for his part said that they were in full agreement with the international nuclear watchdog on the methods of the deal, adding that the implementation will kick off on 11 February.
The Geneva deal was reached between 5 permanent UN Security Council members (USA, Russia, China, France and Britain) plus Germany (P5+1) and Iran guarantees to use its nuclear program for peaceful purposes only, not to be in actions to produce nuclear weapons and stopping uranium enrichment program, in return of lifting of a series of sanctions introduced by UN Security Council.
