ANKARA
Two mysterious envelopes that were sent to Turkey's Foreign Ministry and the Norwegian Embassy in Ankara earlier Thursday do not contain "any suspicious material," the Turkish Health Ministry has confirmed.
No dangerous elements were found in either of them.
Seven tests were performed on the letter sent to the Turkish Foreign Ministry and no dangerous substances were found. It was spotted earlier Thursday in the mail department with excess glue on it, which made the letter seem suspicious.
The Prime Ministry's Disaster Relief Agency said the other envelope, sent to the Norwegian Embassy, contained only newspapers.
Since last week, several consulates in Istanbul -- including Canadian, U.S., Belgian, German and Hungarian consulates -- have received letters with yellow powder in them.
The Health Ministry's decontamination teams had confirmed that the Istanbul letters did not pose any danger to the consulates.
