Lebanese political analyst and author Tony Francis said that the attack on US Embassy in Ankara was targeting Turkey's role in the region.
Speaking to AA, Francis said that the real target in the attack was not the embassy, it was Turkey's increasing role in the region.
Noting that the attack could also target the success of the negotiations aiming to end terrorism in Turkey, Francis said that the attack would not change Turkish government's attitude, on the contrary, it would make Turkey's role in the region stronger.
Ecevit Sanli, a member of DHKP-C terrorist organization, staged a suicide bomb attack on US embassy on Friday, killing himself and the security guard, and injuring a journalist.
