DAMASCUS, Syria
Attacks by regime forces killled 25 people were killed in Arbin town, a Damascus suburb on Thursday.
A Syrian regime fighter jet shelled a bazaar, according to a statement from the the Syrian Revolution General Commission, an umbrella group for the Syrian opposition. Three children and three women were among those killed, the statement said.
Syria has been in the throes of conflict since 2011 when a peaceful uprising against President Bashar al-Assad escalated into civil war following a violent government crackdown.
The U.N. in August said that more than 191,000 people are believed to have been killed in the conflict so far.
