An Indonesian policeman and three security officials died in an accidental blast Tuesday, when a grenade exploded during a training program.
Southeast Sulawesi Police Chief Brigadier Gen. Agung Sabar Santoso told Anadolu Agency that the explosion occurred when a police officer appeared to have accidentally triggered the explosive when handing it to a participant taking part in the program at a local university.
"The explosion resulted in the death of four people, while eight others were injured and are currently hospitalized," he said.
Police are carrying out an investigation into the incident.
