Oklahoma
US President Barack Obama visited tornado-hit Oklahoma on Sunday and consoled people and promised that the government would be behind them “every step of the way.”
Obama's first stop among the demolished sites where 24 people were killed and 12 thousand buildings were damaged was the site of the Plaza Towers Elementary School, where 7 students were killed.
Governor Mary Fallin and FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate and other state and federal officials accompanied Obama when visiting the demolished site of the school.
“I’m just a messenger here,” said Obama and added, “folks are behind you” across America.
The US president indicated that a substantial rebuilding job ahead and “our hearts go out to you.”
Obama thanked everyone who has shown heroic effort and supported the victims of tornado.
